Oregon High Desert Grotto
I’m Kara Mickaelson and I’m a member of the Oregon High Desert Grotto. Ever since I explored the Ape Cave in southwest Washington when I was nine ( just a hole in the ground back then ) I’ve enjoyed exploring caves. Of course, it changed a lot after meeting the other members of the OHDG. Matt, Geoff and Jeremy have taught me much! I like doing vertical work and don’t mind crawling, but when it gets so tight that I can’t make it with my clothes on, I choose to wait that one out. Brent and I enjoy taking photos in and of caves. When I am above ground I love to hike, paddle our canoe, snowshoe, ski, and visit with friends. I’ve met some great folks in the caving community!
